Dreams can’t be Quarantined

The other day, a friend of mine dropped a comment on my facebook post about how happy she is seeing me doing things that makes me happy. It made me smile knowing that people are more focused now on happiness rather than on achievements and material possesions.

This traversed me back to a situation where I was couple of years ago. I realized that in the past years of my life, I jumped into a lot of things. Pursued many goals that weren’t really mine because I saw that people are succeeding on it. I did not consciously choose them but rather pursued ideals and dreams that were approved in my circle of society. Once I achieved these dreams, that weren’t really mine, I would experience a short-lived joy. Feeling empty, confused and exhausted. I started to feel lack of motivation even I was achieving a lot of things.

Some dreams appear to be the right one but it’s not the ones that making us “Happy”.

So when these right dreams would almost kill me, I started to pursue some “crazy” ones instead. I guess when you open the cage of “right-dreaming” and you run freely in the wild, you can never go back. I went out of the corporate world and pursued my Web services Business, Started my own blog, live a simple life in the province, have more time with my family, reconnect with nature, care for animals, spent time for my hobbies and help people.

Being free and pursuing dreams that would have their base in our heart is the best thing in the world. I gotta tell you.

It was in year 2017. I found myself questioning if I was wasting my life because my actions didn’t reflect a life I was too proud of. I knew what I was passionate about but didn’t know if following my passion aligned with God’s purpose for my life.

Today I’d like to share a long-held dream of mine. One that became reality a month ago. It’s my own grassroots support platform. Made purely from the heart, or my new Ikigai.

Being able to create this platform enligtened me about my purpose. Discovered my true calling in using God’s gifts- my tech skills and abilities to help more people.

I guess if you’re feeling tired of toxic COVID-19 pandemic posts on Social Media, it’s better to focus on what you can do to help rather than on what you can’t. And “If you haven’t come out of this quarantine with a new skill, side hustle, knowledge or life purpose, you never lacked the time, you lacked the dedication and passion. “

And with this, I’d like to end this post with a gentle reminder that your dreams can’t ever be quarantined. You on your path. Me on mine.
Both leading to the same destination- To be happy. ⁣Pursuing them won’t always be easy, I can guarantee you that. It takes guts to help and to be happy, you see. True happiness is not for the weak and coward.

So now, up to chasing more dreams, not bigger per se, just those ones that make you feel utterly grateful for being alive.

Life is magical if we allow it to be. Truly.

With so much love and happiness,

Carine
